I have the best nails in the world!
Finally found the nail salon I've been looking for. Thankfully, it's near the place where I'm staying at and I saved the location on my phone before going to Japan (as with everything in my itinerary).
Ever since learning about how they do gel nails in Japan, I've always dreamed about getting one. I just arrived in Tokyo for the first time and explored Shibuya for a few hours but it's been bugging me a lot. Doubtful me began thinking that it might not happen because salons require booking an appointment at least a day before through the phone or Hot Pepper Beauty, or maybe by walking in if you can.
Nevertheless, I found that I still have time and now's the chance to go so I went to the salon. Someone who barely spoke English but was so nice and trying her best obviously knew I'm a gaijin and I didn't have an appointment booked. It was good that she realized this so she made me book for an available time slot and I just went back. Generally you can't just walk in, you really have to book an appointment but I'm glad I get to do it on the same day I booked.
There are A LOT of designs to choose from, from the simplest ones to the most bedazzled ones but one thing's for certain is that they are the highest quality gel nails, from the details of the design and durability.
Generally the price starts at 5000 JPY. Some go slightly lower, but not lower than 4000 JPY, and there are some that could go for 10000 JPY or even more. It depends on the design and how detailed it is.
UV Nail Lamp, an essential to make sure the nail polish dries well and sturdy.
I wasn't aware they also file it after the gel nails dried? Also, a miracle nail oil (which was in a very kawaii bottle) was applied to keep my nails healthy.
Now the nails are done and they'll stay with me for months or until my nails grew off.
